Signature Homes
Lifestyles of Distinction

Mike Roe, a Signature Homes homeowner, says of Dale, "He has unlimited potential as a builder.  His style is extraordinarily current, due to Dale's excellent utilization of design.  Dale's expertise extends to all facets of design, including architectural, interior/exterior living areas, landscaping.  Signature Homes and Dale McPherson exemplify what a home builder will be in the 90s."

What's in a name?

Dale McPherson expected much from the name he chose for his company, Signature Homes.  The logo, his signature, signified his commitment to building a home as distinct as his signature, a home he felt should be unsurpassed in quality and uniqueness.  His signature also was to communicate his confidence in his staff; he believed (and still does) that the expert ability and dedication to quality and services exhibited by his "team" will always be as conscientious as if they were signing their own name to each home.  The most important factor in the choice of the name Signature Homes, Dale emphasized, is "our company, our staff.  I didn't want this to be the Dale McPherson show.  I preferred that both myself and my staff be viewed as a whole, because that's the way we are.  We work cooperatively to build each home.  Without our staff, there could be no Signature Homes."  Dale personally signs his name to each home they build, only after completing his own continuous program of personal on-site quality inspections.

Dale, an Environmental Design Architect by education, has demonstrated an innate ability for site orientation and design.   Signature homes enhance the site they are built upon,ld2.GIF (27036 bytes) and appear almost to be indigenous to the site.  Dale spoke of site preparation.  "We take great care in maximizing views, maintaining privacy and reducing damage to the trees and foliage during construction.

The dramatic curb appeal of a Signature home is due to the meticulous attention to detail and the uncanny ability to create homes and lots that complement each other in every way.  Dale's background in Environmental Design has contributed much to his success as a "truly custom" builder.  He explained, "My background gives us a considerable edge in the custom-home market, due to a heightened sensitivity to the creative design demand of that market.  To date, we have never built a home strictly to the plans our customers initially gave us; they've always enjoyed using some of our creative details, or our in-house design team to develop a custom plan from scratch.  We spend an enormous amount of time in design consultation for pre-designed or custom-designed homes.  We often walk our buyers through every room, discussing their lifestyle needs.  We make recommendations to personalize each home into their own unique Lifestyle of Distinction."

The cost-efficiency of an in-house finish shop for millwork installation has enable Signature Homes to offer its clients an elegant upgraded millwork packaged as a standard, including fluted casing, rosettes, and plinth blocks.  "Keeping the millwork in-house retains Signature Homes in the category of uncompromised design and quality," explained Dale.  An "elegant, open, yet comfortable" atmosphere has been attributed to Signature Homes by many of its homeowners.  Every Signature home has the uniqueness of a truly customized and personalized home.  "Custom home building does not just mean big or expensive," Dale explained.  It is listening to your clients, and making that dream home become a true reflection of their lifestyle."  A recent example of that commitment to personalized homes is the construction of a custom home with a 1,200 square foot garage with attached breezeway including hot and cold water, a separate 500 amp electric service, full washing facilities, designed specifically for the owner's motor home.

The Signature hallmark is open, spacious interiors:  elegance and luxury, nine-foot first-floor ceilings, 10-foot basement panels, decorative interior millwork, standard oak and marble flooring, ceramic kitchen countertops, luxurious master suites, all used to accomplish the highest level of detail and quality possible.
